The Secretariat Mixed Development
Built to house the British administration in central Yangon in the late 19th century, the Secretariat was relegated to a colonial eyesore through disuse by the central regime until recent times.
To restore this once glorious structure, a museum and hotel has been proposed to occupy the vast space. The sprawling restored relic of history will see modern insertions contrasting against the ornate Victorian colonial motifs.
Within the generous courtyard grounds, outdoor pavilions are also planned, which will house the public aspects of the hotel.
