Carnation Drive
A contemporary interpretation of the tropical house which revels in equatorial panache. Verandas are used here as the primary device against the excessive heat of the tropics.
Shaded by deep overhangs, the ground floor is further cooled down by the lush front garden that the entire front facade opens up to it. On the second level, the rooms again open out to an elevated grass terrace. On all four corners of the house, discreet stainless steel cables act as a framework for creepers to grow, forming a living, breathing and growing sun-shading device.
