The Arcadia condominium was built in the early 1980s and the brief was to update this home with two main design objectives.
The first, to showcase the wraparound balcony. The second, to highlight the client’s art collection. To achieve the former, the design now allows the formal entertaining area to flow into the terrace, with balcony openings widened to minimise the separation of indoors and outdoors.
For the latter, a crisp white space with discreet lighting and services, paired with a limited palette of white-painted plaster, honed white marble and dark timber flooring creates an understated canvas to emphasise the eclectic art collection.
